The first important international electronics show of the year, CES, has closed its doors and most camera and optics manufacturers have unveiled a few interesting products that will be released in the coming months.

Although Canon revealed three new compact cameras at CES, it seems that the company has saved its most important announcements for next month to take advantage of two of the most important events of the year, the Winter Olympics (February 7 - February 23) and CP+ 2014 show (February 13 – February 16).

According to NL, the company will introduce several new products during these events including the rumored EOS 7D successor. The same source states that Canon is particularly looking for speed, autofocus and high ISO performance feedback from its testers.

Other than that, the new camera it's said to have a very solid construction, high fps in burst shooting mode and 20MP+ image sensor. No further information has been disclosed about the name of the new Canon APS-C flagship camera, but, according to the latest rumors, it will not be 7D Mark II as the company will introduce a totally new naming scheme.
