It appears that Canon is not satisfied with how many imaging systems it already has, so it issued a press release to reveal that five new members have been added to the imagePROGRAF series, them bearing the name of iPF MFP.

What the iPF MFP do is provide users with a new type of large format color system that can enhance any printing environments.

It achieves this through multiple workflow solutions and other features, such as the SmartWorks MFP software and an an iPF five-color printer with a fast, 4pl ink droplet-using printing mechanism.

The five units in question are the 36-inch iPF710 printer, 36-inch iPF750, the 36-inch iPF755, a the 44-inch iPF815 and another 44-incher, dubbed iPF825 printer.

The target customer base that Canon had in mind when it developed these products is the technical document market.

This means that they will best be used in the hands of sub-contractors, engineers and architects, or anyone that can put their benefits to good use.

“Canon is excited to offer this new category of large format solutions with multifunction capabilities that help meet the needs of technical document users,” said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Large Format Product Division, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A.

“Now, the technical document market has the versatility of having color MFP solutions under $10,000 with color input as well as output,” Rosetta added.

It should be noted that all the Canon iPF MFP boast a Ci C40 color scanner as well, which has a 40-inch scan width and a true 600dpi optical resolution. It can scan up to 10 inches per second in monochrome.

The seeking to buy one of the large format printer will have to pay $7,495 for the iPF710, $8,495 for the iPF750, $8,995 for the iPF755, $9,795 for the iPF815 and $11,495 for the iPF825 printer.
