Canon fans will soon be treated with something novel from their favorite company. As was already whispered by the rumor mill, the company is gearing up to launch a new full frame DSLR.

And this week the upcoming Canon 5Ds has leaked in its full splendor. Canon Rumors is treating us with the first image showing the shooter plus a list with its main specs.

The information reveals there will be two versions, the Canon 5Ds and 5Ds R, which will come devoid of a low-pass filter supposed to bestow greater sharpness.

Anyway, the Canon 5Ds will take advantage of a 50.6MP full frame CMOS sensor and a dual DIGIC6 processor. It will boast 1.3x and 1.6x crop shooting modes which come in handy when you don’t need to use the camera at full capacity.

ISO range sits between 100 and 6400, which can be considered pretty low, but word on the street says this is due to that fact that the shooter boasts an advanced color filter array (CFA) that will deliver greater color accuracy than anything else we have seen come out of Canon.

Other specs include 61 autofocus points, continuous shooting at 5 frames/second, 150,000 pixel RGB/IR photometry sensor, a “fine detail” picture style and a magnesium alloy body.

The camera will reportedly allow users to shoot time-lapse movies and will arrive with an anti-flicker feature. It will also offer Interval Timer and Bulb Timer.

Expect Canon to launch the 5Ds next week.
