Canon has a busy few months coming up in terms of launches

The Canon 5D Mark IV is back in the rumor mill after a month or so of absence. The shooter has been pegged for an early 2015 release, when Canon is also expected to pull the wraps off another pro-level EOS DSLR camera.

The Canon 5D Mark has been around ever since March 2012, so the timing is right for Canon to roll out a successor for the camera.

But the 5D Mark IV is taking its sweet time to arrive on the market, with rumors about the camera appearing constantly throughout 2014.

Canon 5D Mark IV expected in February 2015

The current consensus around the coming product is that the shooter will make a debut into the wild in 2015. Actually, the latest tidbit arriving to us via Northern Images puts a more specific date on the event. Apparently, it’s going to arrive in February 2015.

It makes sense to assume that Canon is getting things in order so that it can put the camera on display in time for the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show in 2015, which takes place in mid-February in Japan.

So if the release date of the Canon 5D Mark IV is tipped to be in February, we could speculate that Canon will make the product official sometime in January.

Since CES 2015 is expected to open its doors in January, we shouldn’t be surprised if Canon brings it along and puts it on display there.

This summer we told you that a source claimed the Canon 5D Mark IV would come equipped with 4K capabilities, but the information hasn’t been corroborated since then. It was also said that the camera would take advantage of Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology and a tilting display (possibly).

More DSLRs from Canon coming in the early months of 2015

As we told you above, Canon will most likely unveil another Canon Pro DSLR around the same time the Canon 5D Mark IV goes official.

We’re talking about a replacement for the 1 D X, a camera which launched back in October 2011 and made its way to the market on March 2012.

At the moment, it is not exactly clear what its name will be, but sources have mentioned the Canon 1 D X Mark II, 1 Ds X, and 1D Xs as possible designations for it.

Last but not least, Canon also has the 6D Mark II in the pipeline, so at this moment, it looks like the company has an extremely busy beginning of the 2015 set out for itself. An aspect which probably gets lots of Canon enthusiasts super excited.
