Everyone who dabbled with photography for a while can recognize Canon's telephoto lenses from a mile away due to their distinct white color.

While the Nippon manufacturer is well known for its high-quality telephoto L lenses, Canon never stops looking for new ways to improve the quality of their products.

Japanese blog Egami has recently spotted a new Canon patent regarding two new telephoto zoom lenses: the Canon 200-400mm f/4 and the 280-560mm f/5.6.

It seems that the new lens models could come with a built-in teleconverter as well as Canon's image stabilization technology.

Using the built-in teleconverter the lenses focal length can be extended to 300-600mm f/5.6 and 420-840mm f/8, respectively.

Canon already has a 200-400mm f/4L USM lens with a built-in 1.4x extender, and this new patent could announce a new IS version of this lens.

Whether these two new lens models will see the light of day or will remain only at a prototype level remains to be seen. What do you think about these new Canon lenses? Let me know in the comments section below.
