Match-three puzzler is free to download but rakes in immense profits

Statistics dished out by Think Gaming reveal that Candy Crush Saga, one of the most downloaded video games of all time, rakes in some $633K (or close to €500K) each day.

That’s more than a million once every couple of days. In both aforementioned currencies! And did I mention that Candy Crush Saga is completely free?

To get one thing straight, while this sadistic match-three puzzler is indeed free to download and play, it’s packed to the brim with incentives to make in-app purchases here and there.

For example, you can actually purchase extra moves to get past a level and stay away from the 30-minute ban. It may not sound like much but once you pick up and play Candy Crush, you’re hooked.

And that’s mostly where the daily $633K / €500K income stems from. In-app purchases. Whoever invented the system may or may not be a genius, but King.com’s Candy Crush is a clear testament of its potential.
