King, the developer of the Candy Crush Saga social game that recently trademarked the word "candy," has confirmed that it's only going after games that blatantly use the word in order to create confusion and infringe on its successful title.

Candy Crush Saga is one of the most popular social games out there, and developer King has recently gained a trademark over the word candy, allowing it to legally threaten games that also feature the word in their title.

Now, after an accusation from the developer of Candy Casino Slots, King has offered a statement to Videogamer, saying that it's actually going to enforce the trademark when it comes to blatant cases of copyright infringement.

"We don't enforce against all uses of candy – some are legitimate and of course, we would not ask App developers who use the term legitimately to stop doing so."

While talking about the case of Candy Casino Slots, King's representative emphasized that, on the iOS App Store, the game appeared as Candy Slots and had an icon similar to Candy Crush Saga, potentially misleading gamers.
