Canalys: iPad 3 to Propel Apple to 1st Spot in PC Market

Analysts at Canalys believe Apple will soon be the #1 PC vendor in The States if it continues to perform this well in the computer segment, which includes tablet devices.

According to the research firm, Apple’s PC market share has expand from 9% to 15% in a matter of just a few quarters.

However, “iPad shipments in its core market – the United States – are likely to come under pressure in Q4 due to the launch of the Fire and Nook at extremely competitive price points,” said the firm.

Canalys Analyst Tim Coulling specifically noted that “HP and Apple will fight for top position in Q4, but Apple may have to wait for the release of iPad 3 before it passes HP.”

In other words, Apple is already on pace to become America’s top PC vendor, and nobody can do anything about it.
