If you're tired of the regular pizza pies available in all eateries, try the new six-layer pizza cake, an invention that takes the popular meal to the next level.

Canadian restaurant chain Boston Pizza has created the amazing pizza cake pictured above as part of a new campaign called “Pizza Game Changers,” designed to allow people to express their opinions on what new products they would like the company to introduce to its portfolio.

Boston Pizza has compiled a list of possible new items, including pizza-flavored mints, a gas-powered pizza cutter, a beard-shaped napkin and a handy pair of pizza cheese clippers, and has put them up for vote online. The pizza cake has been the clear runaway favorite in the social media poll, with more than 15,000 votes, followed by the pizza mints with just 2,204 votes.

The restaurant advertises the 6-inch (15-cm) high, cheese-laden, 5,000-calorie cake as a “great [product] for birthdays, bar mitzvahs, weddings, and even lonely nights watching infomercials.”

The campaign also gives the pizza chain, which has a total of 350 eateries in Canada, the chance to unveil new menu items like the bacon pizza taco, the Calzono (a combination between a pizza and a burrito), pizzaburger sliders, and a candied bacon carrot cake dessert.

The idea of a huge baked pizza cake was received with mixed commentaries by food experts. Tam Fry, of the National Obesity Forum, for instance, warned that the amount of calories included in the new product could actually be dangerous for people.

“The real danger is that there is no portion control. If presented with this, children would go wild. It is stuffed full of calories. It should be banned from Britain,” he said, according to the Independent.
