Canada’s Future Shop Launches Free Shopping Catalogue App for iOS Devices

Canada’s largest retailer and etailer of consumer electronics has confirmed the release of, Future Shop Canada, the company’s very own iOS application, now available for free download from the Apple App Store.

Via its brand new application, Future Shop is offering customers an intuitive and convenient way to browse, accurately search entire catalogue of products, and even securely buy stuff, all from their iOS device.

Future Shop is one of the first retailers in Canada to offer an app of this kind.

The tool, however, is not limited to just skimming through lists of products and choosing one (or more) to buy.

There’s much more to be had with the Future Shop Canada app, including ratings, reviews, as well as access to the Community Forum social media site.

“Future Shop is constantly creating engaging ways to enhance the shopping experience for our customers, especially when it comes to the web and mobile services,” said Todd Empey, Vice President of Store Operations, Future Shop.

“We’re extremely pleased to roll out the Future Shop app as a free download to customers everywhere so they can conveniently search, shop and share information with a simple touch,” Empey noted.

“With the thousands of Canadians transacting or dialoguing on social media with Futureshop.ca daily, and the large number owning smart phones, this was a natural progression for us,” Empey was happy to share.

Main features of the Future Shop app include:

- Complete access to the Future Shop Community Forum, including the Tech Blog and Brand Talk

- Social sharing (via Twitter, Facebook, email)

- Promotions and products on sale

- Customer ratings

- Customer reviews

- Product details

- Product browsing

- Search engine of entire catalogue

- Store locator that utilizes geo-location of mobile device

- “Ship to Home” feature using Mobile Checkout

- Secure purchasing of products

Empey believes that users of their iOS app “will be thoroughly impressed with the functionality and ease of use, especially at checkout.”

He revealed that this is just an initial release with many more enhancements to come, as time goes on.” Other smarphones are on track to receive their own installments, Empey said.
