The first Nseries handset released in Canada

Nokia N95 8GB, the Nseries multimedia flagship phone, will be offered as of tomorrow by Canada's Rogers Wireless, the largest mobile operator in the country. After some rumors (appeared a week ago) were saying that Rogers was to bring the original N95 and not the 8GB version, a recently issued press release confirmed only the latter handset, which I believe is better for the Canadian users.

Since Rogers is the only Canadian carrier to offer GSM and HSDPA services and the N95 8GB only supports these types of connectivity, there will surely not be another operator to launch the handset in Canada. Therefore, those who want it will have to switch to Rogers (if they're not "there" already) and pay no less than $399.99. This price is not a retail one, as you would have wished, but one available only together with the signing of a 3-year contract for Roger's Vision Unlimited On-Device Mobile Browsing Plan.

The most advanced Nokia phone to date, the N95 8GB packs a wide range of high-end features, including a 2.8 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, GPS and A-GPS, Nokia Maps, 8GB of internal memory, Music and Video players, email, Instant Messaging, Web browser and a 5 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, auto focus, flash, digital zoom (up to 20x) and VGA video recording at 30fps. For more detailed info and lots of pics, feel free to check out Nokia N95 8GB's review written by Softpedia about a month ago, found at this address.

Talking about the new Nseries handset, John Boynton, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer at Rogers Wireless, said: "Our customers will be blown away by the sheer power and overall multimedia functionality of this phone. Combined with Rogers Wireless' high-speed HSPA network and Rogers Vision capabilities, the stylish Nokia N95 8GB delivers an exceptional mobile experience, including wireless video calling."

Nokia N95 8GB will be available via Rogers' dealers across Canada, as well as from the carrier's website. If the handset's price tag and the signing of a three-year contract don't scare you, the N95 8GB can be yours starting tomorrow, as we already mentioned.
