A Windsor, Canada bride-to-be got the surprise of her life when she returned from a six-month-long trip to England.

Carly Butler had been in England for half a year retracing the steps of her grandmother after finding a box of love letters sent by her grandfather. When she came back home, her fiancé Adam gave her a letter in which he was explaining that their wedding was going to take place later that very day.

As reported by Metro, the 29-year-old woman thought they were having an engagement party, but Adam had secretly planned their wedding party instead.

“Good morning gorgeous, this letter is slightly different than all the other letters I’ve written to you... There’s no effort in loving you, it’s like I was born to do it,” the letter said.

“What I’m trying to tell you is that today is not our engagement party, it is our wedding,” it continued.

During Carly's trip, Adam and his future mother-in-law teamed up and planned all the details of the amazing surprise wedding, from picking a dress, booking a hairdresser and makeup artist and booking a venue. It seems that not even the family and friends who attended the party knew about the surprise until right before the wedding started.

At around 9:00 A.M, the romantic fiancé gave Carly the letter explaining his entire plan and got the cameras rolling. At first, the bride-to-be was shocked, but her initial surprise turned into excitement after reading the letter.

A summary video of their special day has been posted online and shows an amazing ceremony and a cheerful reception. You can view the amazing moment above.

For Carly, the surprise wedding must have been a perfect moment since she looks very happy. She immediately accepted the idea and began preparing for the ceremony.

As for Adam, he must be very pleased with the result of his efforts, as the event went off without a hitch. In the clip we can see him very emotional, as he even wipes away a tear at one point.

Prior to the wedding, Carly had spent $22,000 (€15,850) and six months in a trip to London aiming to re-create her grandmother's daily life during World War II.

Now that she is back in Canada, she began working as a photographer and life coach and plans to write about her incredible experience retracing her grandma's steps.
