Sources are reporting that iPhoneinCanada.ca has posted what seems to be a leaked version of "the employee Rogers iPhone 3G In-Store Activation Process and Store Setup Requirements for iPhone." The newly surfaced memo offers Rogers Wireless employees iTunes "activation-only" version 7.6.3b4.

The only mobile carrier offering plans for iPhone 3G in Canada has been on everyone's lips lately, mainly for negative reasons. The memo that describes the in-store process of activating the iPhone on July 11 with Rogers has been posted in its entirety. The memo containing iPhone In-Store Processes includes some "absolute" NO-NOs, such as:

"- No Promotions/Contests
- No Countdowns
- No Posters out of the store
- No Flyers
- No Radio remotes
- No Mailers
- No Alteration of Store Hours
- No Swag
- No Tshirts with any reference to Apple or Iphone
- No advertising until 13 weeks post launch"

As for the new version of iTunes - you guessed it - iTunes 7.7 is on track for a July 11 release. However, Rogers will be using only a specific version of iTunes, according to the memo: "This document outlines the initial store setup requirements that you must fulfill in order to effectively sell the iPhone in store. To ensure customers can leave with a fully functional iPhone, it must be first be "unbricked". This process involves using the tether (a USB cable: see below) to connect/sync the iPhone to a unique 'Activation Only' version of iTunes via a computer. More information about the unbricking process will be provided in training (found on Fast Track and Sales Central) and you will be informed when the job aid is available," the memo reads, according to iPhoneinCanada.ca.

Further on, the memo reveals what Rogers staffers must do to get a hold of iTunes 7.7 "activation-only" version:

"Requirement 1) Download/Install 'Store only version' of iTunes

In order to unbrick the iPhone in store (which is a requirement of the iPhone Sales Process), you must have iTunes version 7.6.3b4. Installed on your computer. This version has a special 'Activation Only Mode' that must be enabled and used in store. The iTunes version that is currently available on the Apple website is version 7.6.2. This version does NOT have the activation only mode and as such please action the following steps to complete the installation of version 7.6.3b4." The memo then asks Rogers employees to download and install 7.6.3b4 from a given address.
