Camtasia Studio 8 Released

TechSmith launched version 8 for Camtasia Studio. Since this is a major release, the amount of new features and options available in the suite is significantly higher than usual.

Among the most important additions, there is the TSC 2 video codec, which can record more graphical content with higher frame rates, hence at a better quality. Also, there is the option to use GPU acceleration, if available (check in the Tools>Options dialog).

Functionality has been extended and now you can have unlimited multimedia tracks on the timeline. You can also layer multiple different types of media including videos, graphics, images and more on top of each other. Furthermore, snap guidelines are available in the Canvas to help align media objects.

Visual effects section has been enriched with new entries, Drop Shadow, Colorize, and Border, with the possibility to adjust distance, direction, opacity and blur for the former.
