TechSmith Corp., a provider of screen-capture and screen-recording solutions, has announced the availability of Camtasia for Mac, a software application designed to create professional presentations, demonstrations, screencasts, training and marketing videos in HD.

“Camtasia for Mac is as intuitive as a professional-grade screencasting software can be,” John Basile, team leader at Scraster Professional Screencasting, said. “It's amazingly well thought out and its performance – even since its beta stage – has proved flawless. Camtasia for Mac is a very welcomed game-changer in the world of screencasting.”

“Camtasia for Mac has already been key to iPhone app marketing for Bickbot,” John Ellenich, lead designer for Bickbot.com, added. “It creates stunning screencasts of our apps, which helps us rise above other developers.” You can view the Bickbot.com screencast of its new iPhone application (Strokes) as an example of what Camtasia for Mac is capable of.

TechSmith is offering Camtasia for Mac at a special introductory price of $99.00 through the end of the year. The price is for a single user license. Readers can immediately request and use a full-featured, 30-day, free trial. Trial users of Camtasia for Mac will receive 2GB of storage and 2GB of monthly bandwidth on Screencast.com for free. Those interested in the piece of software can document themselves here with a brief overview screencast of Camtasia for Mac.

There are also some requirements to be met. First of all, while Camtasia for Mac requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 (Leopard) or later, it also supports Apple’s yet-unreleased, next-gen OS, Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Second, users looking to make good-quality recordings will need to purchase a web camera and microphone separately (in case they don’t have these already).
