In July 2005 Cameron Diaz sued photographer John Rutter for what she claimed was blackmail and forgery. Ever since, as the trial unfolded, Rutter remained imprisoned and he will still stay like this for the time to come.
An L.A. Court ruled against John Rutter. He was found guilty of forgery, perjury and attempted grand larceny. The fuss started as Diaz tried to stop Rutter from selling for publishing some nude photos of her. The photos were taken before Diaz became famous and she claimed the signature on the agreement that allowed Rutter to use the materials in any way he pleased was forged.
Rutter and his lawyer declared he was the victim of a trap set by the Hollywood star in an attempt to keep her reputation clear. "Cameron Diaz used her wealth, power and fame to crush John Rutter and bury those photos." (Lawyer Mark Werkman)
This wouldn't be the first time when stars go to court in order to stop nude materials involving them. Pamela Anderson became notorious for her trials (one lost, one won) regarding sex videotapes.
Future trials involving nude VIP materials could follow the current trend and stars might become even richer and keep their cute and non-nude image. Anyhow, smart stars know that nude and outrageous material is good media cover and attracts even more fans.
