14 DAY TRIAL // Cameron Diaz has been linked to many famous (and handsome) men in her life, but it took bad-boy Benji Madden to tame her wild heart. The two, considered one of the unlikeliest couples in showbiz, have been dating since this spring and things are getting serious.
Make that “really serious,” really fast.
The actress said on more than one occasion that she would never marry and would most definitely never have children either, but it seems that Benji has made her see that couple life could be something she’d get used to.
They’ve already talked about the future, and more specifically, their future together, a source familiar to the situation tells People magazine. “It’s early, but they have talked about marriage,” the tipster explains.
They’re already living as if they were married, even sharing the same Los Angeles house, so the next logical step would be to just make things legal.
“Benji spends so much time at Cameron’s that it seems he now kind of lives there. They look very happy together… Cameron hasn’t looked this happy for years,” the same insider adds.
The report doesn’t mention a possible wedding date or even an estimated timeframe, but when it does happen, trust you’ll hear all about it in the media because this is Cameron Diaz we’re talking about. She’s never made a secret of her disdain for “traditional” concepts women must abide by, like motherhood and married life, so seeing her walk down the aisle would prove of great interest for many.
Just as interesting will be to see how the romance with Benji plays out, precisely because they’re such an unlikely couple. The two met through Nicole Richie, who is a good friend of Cameron’s and who is married to Benji’s brother, Joel.
At one point last month, one rumor claimed that Diaz was so touched by the beautiful little family Nicole and Joel have, which also includes two gorgeous children, that she was even considering having babies too.
Insiders claimed she was convinced Benji was “The One” for her and she wanted to become pregnant with his child ASAP. Not even the thought that the relationship might be short-lived scared her, the spy further said: Cameron wanted Benji’s kid with or without the prospect of having him in their life.
Before Benji, Cameron also famously dated Justin Timberlake, who is now married to Jessica Biel, Alex Rodriguez, Matt Dillon, Puff Daddy, Edward Norton, Jude Law, Jared Leto, and Robin Williams.
