The official website of the Cambodia Tribunal, or the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC.gov.kh), has been disrupted by hackers of Anonymous Cambodia.

The hacktivists took down the website by launching a distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack against it.

The hackers say they’ve targeted the ECCC because it has tried to silence victims of crimes against humanity.

“ECCC.gov.kh enforced censorship on the victims of the crime of humanity so we #TangoDown them,” the hackers said on Twitter.

At the time of writing, the website of the ECCC is inaccessible. Visitors are presented with a message which reads: “The site is currently not available due to technical problems. Please try again later.”

In September, Anonymous Cambodia launched a campaign against the local government. Several government websites have been targeted as part of the operation, including the ones of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Bank of Cambodia, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
