Those of you interested in golfing accessories are probably quite well-aware of the fact that GPS devices specifically tailored for the needs of golfers have already started making their way onto the market, the latest such product we've come across being the Callaway upro mx. Following in the footsteps of Callaway's original upro device, the mx comes equipped with a 2.2 – inch Multi-Gesture Touch Screen and a precise Optical Finger Navigation system, making it a low easier to use by golfers, especially while being engaged in a match.

Moreover, some of the on-course features include the Virtual Green View, a function that employs a proprietary imagery process to provide accurate details of the course, as well as SmartView, that offers the best possible view for the upcoming shot based on the golfer’s position on the course.

Additionally, the upro mx's ProMode offers a TV-style video flyovers, thus making it easier for users to determine their position on the course and relative to the next hole, and AnyPoint Technology, which provides golfers accurate distances from any location on the golf course.

“The Callaway upro mx is a major step forward in the golf GPS category, delivering the best user experience and the most robust feature set in the sport,” said Joey Balardeta, Vice President, Integrated Devices, Callaway Golf, who also added that “no other golf GPS device comes close to offering such premium technology in this price range.”

And since we've reached the topic of pricing, we'll have to mention that the Callaway upro mx will arrive in stores in May, for a retail price of only $199, which is actually quite OK, especially since the device comes pre-loaded with more than 25,000 courses from the company’s global database and doesn't prompt users to pay any yearly fees.
