Glu Mobile, in partnership with Activision, has announced that they are currently working on a way to bring the PC game Call of Duty on mobile phones too. The exact title of the game has not been revealed, but it is sure to emphasize the fact that this is indeed a follow-up of the original one.

Call of Duty was released in late 2003 as a first-person shooter video game that simulates World War II situations of battle. The interesting aspect about the game is that it offers several battle perspectives, including that of British, American and Soviet soldiers. Call of Duty received the title of the Game of the Year in 2003, which was awarded by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.

Several expansion packs and follow-ups of the first Call of Duty game have been developed since its release, as it turned out to be such a big hit in the first place. Mobile phone gaming is only a small step in the evolution of this game.

"The mobile launch will give fans the ability to experience the thrilling action and heart-pounding intensity of Call of Duty, whenever and wherever they are.", said David Anderson, senior director of business development at Activision. As for their new partner, David Anderson continued by saying that "Glu's well-earned reputation for publishing award-winning quality mobile games, and their proven ability to deploy titles globally made them a clear choice as our partner to bring the next Call of Duty to mobile gamers.".

Glu is one of the top publishers of mobile games. The reason for the partnership between them and Activision is that this is the company that first released Call of Duty. Their efforts are now made as to find the best way to adapt the game to mobile phone playing.
