Infinity Ward, the developer behind the massively successful Call of Duty franchise, has posted a job listing for an animator who needs to be interested in working with “next generation technologies.”

We’ve been hearing plenty of rumors about next generation consoles, like the PlayStation 4 or Xbox 720, and lately quite a lot of studios have started posting job listings for developers that are eager to work on these new devices.

We’ve already heard Rockstar Games, the studio behind Grand Theft Auto, is looking for such people and now Infinity Ward, the studio responsible for the massively successful Call of Duty franchise has posted a special listing for a senior animator.

Besides previous experience in game development, the best candidate should have “an interest in working with next-generation technologies.”

It’s a safe bet that the studio is looking to completely overhaul its in-house engine, which has stayed the same ever since the beginning of the series, although plenty of new systems and technologies were added on top of it as the years progressed.

Call of Duty fans shouldn’t expect plenty of details anytime soon, however, as next generation devices, for which this engine is going to be made, aren’t even confirmed by their manufacturers.
