John Dennis, the lead designer of the just released Call of Duty: Strike Team, says that the mobile game was developed under complete secrecy for over a year and represents more than a rushed port of older content.

The game, which can be played on iOS and on Android devices, is meant to extend the appeal of the series to a larger audience.

He tells Kotaku that, “This has been a very hard-working team working for a long time to try and deliver a quality experience.”

The experience was created by a new Blast Furnace studio which employs a number of developers who have previously worked at Rockstar.

Call of Duty: Ghosts, the new main title in the franchise, is set to launch worldwide on November 5 on the PC and on current-gen consoles.

The first-person shooter will also have versions for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
