Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on the PlayStation 3 will finally get the Face Off mode as a free downloadable add-on later this month, on June 15.

In between receiving all sorts of new maps for its multiplayer mode and missions for its Spec Ops one, Modern Warfare 3 got a free new gameplay mode last month on the Xbox 360, in the form of Face Off.

The mode, which lets players fight in either 1-on-1 or 2-on-2 matches, is now making its way onto the PlayStation 3 platform, as Activision has confirmed that it will release it later this month, on June 15, as a free download via the PlayStation Network.

Besides the actual mode, two maps will accompany it, called Aground and Erosion.

PS3 owners with Call of Duty Elite premium memberships will also receive two extra maps, while regular players will have to wait until the Content Collection #2 DLC makes its way onto the PS3 in order to play Face Off on new maps.
