Xbox 360 owners will soon be able to access the DLC no matter their profile

Infinity Ward has confirmed that the issues concerning the downloadable content that was recently released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, in which Xbox 360 owners couldn’t access it while signed into other profiles, will be solved through a future update.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 received its first two content drops last week, as Call of Duty Elite premium subscribers on the Xbox 360 were finally able to download two new maps for the game’s multiplayer mode.

While the release didn’t have any large problems, Xbox 360 owners soon discovered that they were unable to access the DLC if they were signed into a different profile on the console. This went against the actual rules of the Elite service, which clearly mentioned that all users on a console can access the DLC.

"You can use this item on the first Xbox 360 console you downloaded it to. Access to this item will also be granted to all users on this first console," the rules stated.

Now, Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling has confirmed the issue and reveals that an update is in the works to fix the problem, thus allowing all Xbox 360 profiles on a console access to the Modern Warfare 3 DLC.

"We understand that Elite Premium Members on Xbox Live who purchased the latest DLC Content Drop for Modern Warfare 3 are unable to access that content while signed into other profiles on the same console that originally downloaded the content," Bowling told Joystiq. "This is unintentional and we will work to get an update out as soon as possible that corrects this issue and allows you to continue to enjoy the new maps."

The studio has just released a new title update for the Xbox 360 version of Modern Warfare 3 last week, so it may take a while before it can deliver a new patch to owners of the game.
