The development team at developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision have announced that those who are playing the multiplayer game modes for their first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will get double experience points until May 29.

The extra experience can be earned regardless of the whether gamers play the game on the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

The event is related to the fact that those who are playing on the Microsoft home console can now get access to the Content Collection #2 for Modern Warfare 3 on the Xbox Live service.

The new update delivers new maps for players to engage in, a new game mode and more Spec Ops missions.

Those who are enjoying Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on the PlayStation 3 and the PC will get access to the new content later, probably during June.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is being prepared for a November launch date by Activision and Treyarch.
