Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Is Most Wanted Game for the Holidays

Nielsen, a firm which specializes in tracking sales and customer intentions, has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the game that questioned video gamers were the most eager to pick up for the holidays.

27 percent of those who responded to questions from Nielsen placed the game in the top 5 of titles they wished to get in the coming months.

Second place went to Gears of War 3, the Xbox 360 exclusive from Epic Games that is already out, while third place was occupied by Madden NFL 12, which got the attention of 19 percent of respondents.

Other popular games for the Christmas list included: Assassin's Creed: Revelations at 17 percent, Warner Bros.' Batman: Arkham City at 15& and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Only the open world zombie powered Dead Island from Techland and Deep Silver is a new intellectual property, which again shows the level of domination that big franchises have in the video game world.
