After yesterday's report about the all-but-confirmed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, three new images have appeared on the web, showcasing not only the logo and a possible cover for the new Call of Duty title, but also hinting at something called Call of Duty Elite.

Activision didn't opt to release any details about its next Call of Duty project at the beginning of the week, but this hasn't stopped various websites from claiming to know just what that game is, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and release a few details about it.

Now, a new report popped up, containing a logo as well as a potential cover for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, while another logo, for something called Call of Duty Elite also surfaced.

The two logos first appeared on the Electric Hydra forums, via Destructoid, depicting the same familiar Call of Duty emblem, but with changed lettering for the subtitles.

The reported PC cover then appeared on Kotaku, containing the logo mentioned above as well as the silhouette of a soldier with a gun in his hand, in the same vein as the previous Modern Warfare titles.

Do bear in mind that this might just be a clever Photoshop job, done by an independent artist with no actual link with Activision, the publisher of the series.

Also, it's unlikely that the company will mention just 'MW3' on the cover of the game, and not the much more attractive 'Modern Warfare 3', which will attract more gamers that weren't that familiar with the shooter franchise.

In terms of Call of Duty Elite, however, we don't know anything, but it might also be just a mockup from an independent artist.

The cover might also be another image done in Photoshop, as anyone could have easily taken the logo that appeared earlier and slap it onto the image of a soldier.

The Activision logo as well as the watermark of the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification, the UK's game ratings group) could have also been easily added to the image.

Sadly, until the game's official reveal, which is set to happen at E3, Call of Duty fans are going to see lots of other rumors about the next game in the popular franchise.
