Video games developers Infinity Ward and Treyarch and publisher Activision announce that both Call of Duty: Ghosts and the older Black Ops 2 will get a special weekend that will allow players to get access to double experience for their characters and to special playlists to enjoy.

The experience starts today at 10 AM Pacific Daylight Time and gamers will be able to enjoy it until 10 AM PDT.

The official Twitter account of Call of Duty: Ghosts says that players can enjoy a 24/7 Strikezone playlist, while the Black Ops 2 account explains that in this version of the title gamers can enjoy a playlist based on the Nuketown map.

The two events are important because they will get some long-term fans of the shooter franchise back into the games, where they might be persuaded to buy some of the new downloadable content launched for them.

Call of Duty: Ghosts has recently got access to the Nemesis DLC, which introduces four new maps for gamers, a new episode in the Extinction cooperative mode and two special weapons.

At the moment, the focus at Activision is on finalizing the development process for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and last-gen consoles on November 4.
