The development team at Infinity Ward and publisher Activision are ready to reveal the existence of the new Invasion downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts, which will be launched first for the Xbox One and the older 360 from Microsoft on June 3.

The coming DLC will introduce four new maps for the various multiplayer game modes and the third full episode of the Extinction episodic campaign, called Awakening.

Invasion will be offered for 14.99 dollars or Euro and it is included in the Season Pass that fans were able to buy when Call of Duty: Ghosts was launched.

A fourth DLC delivery, called Nemesis, will be made later during summer.

The four new maps included in Invasion are small to medium sized and bring fast-paced gameplay, all of them being filled with unique field orders.

Departed is set in a rural Mexican town during the Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, which means that the streets are filled with decorations and vendor carts and that the unique killstreak is based on the Mariachi, who arrive wielding pistols, with each kill turning those hit into members of the band.

Pharaoh will take gamers to an abandoned digging site near an Egyptian palace, which creates a multiple-level experience where the environment can be a powerful enemy, with the killstreak linked to the god of death, Anubis, and his half-human, half-jackal form.

Mutiny is linked to a Caribbean island that includes a pirate base, filled with hallways and prison cells, with an actual ship in the center.

Two ghost pirates will be delivered when the field order is unlocked and they will escort and fight for the player.

Favela, which might be known to fans from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, has been remade for Ghosts and will once more take gamers to a shantytown in Brazil, with a mix of crumbled and completed buildings giving players plenty of ways to flank their enemies.

The killstreak will allow gamers to call in a Y-8 gunship, which can use a 105mm cannon, a 40mm auto-cannon and a 25mm cannon to rain destruction upon enemy forces.

The new Awakening episode for Call of Duty: Ghosts – Extinction allows players who are following the alien-focused narrative to explore a new underground location and battle the Ancestors, the powerful forces who are directing the invasion of the Cryptids.

Invasion for Call of Duty: Ghosts will also be offered on the PC and on Sony platforms, probably towards the end of June.
