Call of Duty: Ghosts is one of the most expected first-person shooters of the year and the team at Infinity Ward is ready to share more information about its multiplayer, just as the mode is playable during the Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany.

The list of new modes, compiled by VG24, includes:

Search & Rescue – previously revealed – gamers need to make sure that they are revived by friends who pick up their dog tags, so cooperation is essential. Cranked – also previously known – gamers get new abilities for kills, but need to beat a countdown in order to take an enemy out or they will explode. Blitz – only named earlier in the week – it will allow gamers to split into teams who try to capture enemy control points while defending their own, similar to Capture the Flag in some ways. Squad vs. Squad – for two players – it allows each player to use his own AI squad to take out the enemy. Squad Assault – play against another Squad even if they are offline, with loadout and AI moves selected by the enemy. Wargame – a player and his squad against another team, but custom AI soldiers can be exchanged for a human player at any time. Safeguard – four-player cooperative mode that asks gamers to survive waves of enemies.

Infinity Ward also says that there are 30 new weapons added to the game, all of them designed to increase the range of options that players have on the battlefield.

The multiplayer is the most important part of the new Activision shooter and will largely decide how it performs in terms of sales.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be launched on the PC and current-gen consoles on November 5 and gamers will be able to also get it on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
