Call of Duty: Ghosts has received a new set of gameplay details, confirming that the new first-person shooter has a single playable character and that enemies will consist of "resource rich" states from South America instead of the traditional Russians.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is awaited by millions of franchise fans as it introduces a new experience to the long running series.

Thanks to a preview from IGN, via NeoGAF, quite a few new details about gameplay and story have appeared.

First up, players can only control a single character and guide him throughout the U.S. after it was ravaged by a "mass event", while fighting against enemies from South America.

Players will also be able to control Riley the dog thanks to a special tablet and he can be used in reconnaissance, attack, or distractions.

There will be different missions with different requirements, some emphasizing stealth while others emphasize speed.

The undercover level shown briefly at E3 2013 will see players use waterproof weapons and employ cover to protect themselves and their scuba gear.
