Call of Duty fans will be pleased to know that Activision has just released a companion application for its latest game in the franchise, which is now available for Windows Phone 8 devices.

The bad news is that, for some reason, Call of Duty companion app has quite a few bad ratings, which might suggest that it’s not that useful as one may think.

Anyway, developers claim that users of the Windows Phone app can create or join Call of Duty: Ghosts Clan and communicate with members via the application’s chat feature, so that they can coordinate playtimes and strategies.

The application also offers in-depth info on the latest Call of Duty news and events, as well as the option to track career stats. Last but not least, Activition promises that “Second Screen” support will be added soon.

You can now download Call of Duty for Windows Phone for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application is fully compatible with all devices running Windows Phone 8 and up.

[UPDATE]: It looks like it's only compatible with WP8-based phone that pack 1GB of RAM.
