Activision has confirmed that it is finally releasing mobile applications for its Call of Duty Elite online service, with a version already available on the iOS platform. The Android edition is coming next week.

Call of Duty Elite was released alongside Modern Warfare 3 back in November but, while the actual game went on to break sales records, the online service was plagued with problems and issues for quite some time due to the large influx of users.

Now, after Elite was fixed by Activision and its Beachhead studio, the companies have confirmed that the promised mobile applications are coming.

The iOS version of Call of Duty Elite is now available for download on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, while the Android edition is set to make its debut next week. Both are free and don’t even require a paid subscription to Elite.

These apps allow Elite members to remotely edit their loadouts or check out their performance during Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer, although more features might be baked into them in the future.
