Following a major leak yesterday, Activision has confirmed that it’s going to release a special Season Pass DLC bundle for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and that it’s turning the Call of Duty Elite online service completely free, eliminating the premium tier that’s been available since its launch last year.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is out on November 13 and Activision is beginning to reveal some of the major details concerning the release of the first-person shooter.

After learning about its single-player campaign, its multiplayer mode, and its cooperative Zombies experience, Activision has confirmed that a special Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Season Pass will soon be available for purchase.

The Season Pass incorporates four downloadable map packs with new levels for both the multiplayer and the zombies mode that will start rolling out at the beginning of 2013. Each map pack is available for 1200 MS Points/$15/€15, but the pass is going to sell for 4000 MS Points/$49.99/€49.99.

Activision also confirmed that, with the release of the Black Ops 2’s Season Pass, the Call of Duty Elite service will become completely free, eliminating its premium membership.

"We've learned a lot in our first year of Call of Duty Elite, and we're very proud that we over delivered on our commitment of playable content to our premium members," said Activision Publishing CEO, Eric Hirshberg . "What we have realized is that several of the Call of Duty Elite services which are currently only available to our premium members for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are things that would further unite, engage and delight our player community. So we are going to make them free for Call of Duty: Black Ops II."
