Call of Duty: Black Ops, one of the biggest titles set to be released this fall season, has received another new feature, after a zombie co-op mode and lots of other multiplayer matches, and will be playable in stereoscopic 3D for all of the platforms it will be appearing on.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is shaping up to follow in the hugely successful footsteps of last year's Modern Warfare 2, which went on to become the most successful title launched up until now.

Now, after seeing that a zombie co-op mode was officially announced for the upcoming video, Activision, its publisher, and Treyarch, its developer, have revealed that the first person shooter will be fully playable in stereoscopic 3D for all the platforms it will be released on.

If you have a PC, PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, connected to 3D-ready HDTVs or 3D PC monitors, alongside special active shutter glasses, then you will be able to enjoy the new game in three dimensions.

Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia said: "Development of stereoscopic 3D began as an R&D project, but once we saw what the technology brought to the Call of Duty experience, what a great fit and how immersive it was, we knew that we had to develop it for Black Ops.

"Aiming down the sights of your weapons, flying in helicopters, rappelling down mountains, and moving through highly detailed environments are just some of the awesome experiences you will have in 3D with Black Ops."

The stereoscopic 3D option can easily be enabled through the menu of the game, and will be available throughout the multiple modes, including single-player, multiplayer or the co-op Zombies.

He added: "We made sure the experience is seamless for gamers to use with a simple menu option to enable stereoscopic 3D or disable it at any time whether playing in the single player campaign, multiplayer or Zombies."

Are you happy that Call of Duty: Black Ops now features 3D or do you think Treyarch should have invested more time in polishing up other elements than adding this new technology?
