Xbox 360 gamers are more attracted to Black Ops' multiplayer mode

It seems that Xbox 360 owners are still very much in love with the year-old Call of Duty: Black Ops, as over the last week, more people have ventured into the multiplayer of the old shooter than the online modes from the much more recent Battlefield 3.

Electronic Arts and DICE released Battlefield 3 late last month into critical and sales acclaim, managing to sell more than 5 million units in its first week, at least according to the internal estimates of the company.

This didn't guarantee its popularity, however, as there are still more players of Call of Duty: Black Ops, last year's Call of Duty game released by Activision, than those who enjoy the online modes of Battlefield 3 on Xbox Live, according to data from Microsoft itself.

This shouldn't be too surprising, however, as Black Ops sold a huge amount of copies since it was released back in November, 2010, and Battlefield 3 has just been launched all over the world. The podium is completed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is still quite popular after more than 2 years since its release.

Expect the Xbox Live online activity chart to be rocked next week, as Activision has just released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
