Activision and Treyarch have confirmed that the recently released Rezurrection downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops will make its way onto the PC and PlayStation 3 editions of the game later this month, on September 22.

Call of Duty: Black Ops impressed a huge amount of gamers almost a year ago with its sharp shooter mechanics, and managed to keep millions hooked on its multiplayer experience, which was updated multiple times by its developer, Treyarch, through new map packs.

Now, after the fourth map pack was released for the Xbox 360 back in August, the Rezurrection DLC is making its way onto the PC and PlayStation 3 later this month, when it will be deployed, via digital distribution outlets like Steam, or the PlayStation Store, respectively, onto the platforms.

"Pack your bags, soldiers, we're about to head out. Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection is launching worldwide for the PC and PS3 on September 22," Activision revealed. "The walking dead have infiltrated our combat grounds in four different locations, amassing in the classic maps that started it all: Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa and Der Riese. Once those areas are secure, we blast off to the fifth and final confrontation - the Moon. Let's hope you're ready for this."

The Rezurrection map pack brings an all-new map, called Moon, which sees players confront the legions of undead in space. Besides that, the four original Zombies maps from Call of Duty: World at War, have been remastered and will be included in the DLC.

If players already have the Hardened or Prestige editions, then the Rezurrection DLC is completely free for them.

In order to drum up even more excitement straight after the release of the DLC, Treyarch confirmed that a special Double XP weekend for the multiplayer mode is going to be ran on all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, from September 22 to the 25.
