The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops have just received a hotfix designed to quickly solve some of the key issues reported by players.

Treyarch, the development studio behind Black Ops deployed a patch for the Wii version of the game earlier today, and has now published a hotfix for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions of the extremely popular first-person shooter.

While the Wii update packed a huge amount of fixes for that version of the game, the hotfix for the other consoles only addresses a few key issues that were encountered by players since the release of the 1.07 patch for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

More specifically, the team at Treyarch addressed some of the exploits in Black Ops' cooperative Zombies mode, where players were using illegal maneuvers to gain the upper hand on the AI-controlled undead, as well as another exploit that was used by some gamers to go outside the map boundaries on the Nuketown and Kowloon levels.

The multiplayer mode of Black Ops has also received a new playlist of maps called Mercenary, which is exclusive just to the Team Deathmatch mode.

What's more, if you play on the maps in the Mercenary playlist, you won't get to use the split-screen feature of the game, according to Treyarch.

The hotfix is now live on both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live online services, and should be downloaded automatically once you boot up Call of Duty: Black Ops and your console is connected to the Internet.

Expect a bigger patch to appear in the following weeks, as Treyarch has promised that it will continue to update the game and eliminate all of the exploits that are being used by hackers to disrupt normal gameplay in the multiplayer mode.
