The PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to finally get the First Strike downloadable content pack at the end of the week, according to development studio Treyarch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops has sold a huge amount of copies all over the world, so Treyarch, its developer, has worked hard to support the game through a wide array of updates and patches, as well as with the First Strike map pack which began appearing at the beginning of February.

After being launched for the Xbox 360 as a timed exclusive, and on the PlayStation 3 earlier this month, Treyarch has now announced the official release date of the DLC pack on the PC platform.

After a pretty long wait, Treyarch's Josh Olin confirmed on his Twitter account that the First Strike DLC will be hitting PCs on March 25.

The First Strike DLC includes four new maps for the multiplayer modes and one new level for the Zombies cooperative mode.

"First Strike contains 5 incredibly diverse maps spanning the globe; featuring 4 multiplayer maps and a new Zombie experience. Includes "Berlin Wall", allowing combat on both sides of the imposing wall; "Discovery", a desolate, frozen German outpost in the Arctic; "Kowloon", battle in the rain along the rooftops of a towering Chinese sprawl; "Stadium", an intense locale with a pro hockey arena backdrop; and "Ascension", where you fight zombies in a Soviet launch facility," revealed Treyarch in a statement.

The DLC is priced at $14.99, but you can get a 10% discount if you pre-order the DLC from Valve's Steam digital content delivery platform.

Despite the rather steep price, the First Strike map pack became extremely popular on both consoles, so Activision's isn't worried about driving off players.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo Wii version of Black Ops is still up in the air, with Treyarch not revealing anything about any DLC on that platform.
