Activision boss Bobby Kotick has once again expressed his confidence in Call of Duty: Black Ops, and how the upcoming game will have the biggest entertainment launch in history, overtaking the previous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 title.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to be the biggest game this year, and, according to Activision, its publisher, will be even more successful than Modern Warfare 2, which managed to sell over 20 million copies since its release last year.

Kotick revealed in a recent conference call with investors that Black Ops' release, set to happen tomorrow, will go down as the biggest entertainment launch of all time, overtaking not only games but also music, books or movies.

"Our latest instalment, Black Ops, launches next week and is likely to be the biggest entertainment launch of all time," revealed Kotick.

"In the landscape where many entertainment providers are trying to figure out how to manage lower audience engagement and rapid obsolescence, our core franchises are posting record engagement levels and seeing adoption curves that are longer... than ever before."

Activision Chief Financial Officer Thomas Tippl also chimed in, saying that the growth of the franchise is stronger than it ever was, so Black Ops, with its huge feature set, will take it to new heights.

"We believe that the growth opportunity in Call of Duty has never been stronger than what it is today for us, particularly given the strength of our development teams and the consumer excitement and the equity behind the brand... So we are very bullish about it."

Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to be released on the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and DS tomorrow, on November 9, and Activision will make sure that you know about it and that you will buy it, either during the first week or ahead of the winter holiday season.
