Activision and Sony have confirmed at E3 2012 that a special Call of Duty game is coming onto the PlayStation Vita later this year, but only revealed its name – Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified – without saying anything else about the shooter. Now, thanks to a listing from Walmart, the first details of the game have appeared.

The Call of Duty franchise is one of the most popular ones in the world, so you can bet that Sony wants to get the shooter series onto its PlayStation Vita platform.

Back at E3 2012 earlier this month, the company did confirm that such a game was coming, but only revealed its name and promised that more details would appear soon enough.

Now, thanks to a listing from Walmart, a description of the new shooter has surfaced, revealing that it will actually be a re-telling of the events from Black Ops 1 in the form of Spec Ops missions.

Check out the full listing below.

"Before the future could be won, history had to be written. Exposing that story exclusively on PlayStation Vita, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified explores original fiction in the Call of Duty Black Ops universe with an all-new campaign of Special Ops missions. Optimized for gamers on-the-go, Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified delivers the most intense handheld Call of Duty experience to date, including both Special Ops Story mode and Multiplayer combat tailored for the PS Vita," the description said.

The listing has a placeholder release date of December 31 and a price of $49.69 (around €39.19).

As of yet, neither Activision nor Sony has confirmed the authenticity of the listing, which has since been taken offline.

Expect to hear something official about Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified for the PS Vita in the near future.
