Gamers who have experienced bugs while playing Call of Duty: Black Ops are in the vast minority, at least according to Mark Lamia, boss of the game's development studio, Treyarch, who shared his view on the recent scandals around the first-person shooter.

Call of Duty: Black Ops has sold a huge amount of copies since it was released on platforms like the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii.

Sadly, on any platforms besides the Xbox 360, players have been experiencing a lot of technical issues, prompting Treyarch to deploy several patches since the game's launch.

According to the boss of the studio, Mark Lamia, things aren't all that bad, as he revealed to Kotaku that a vast majority of players have had a flawless experience with the game.

"Here is what I will say: We know this for a fact, that the vast, vast majority don't have these sorts of experiences and they're out there playing this game," he said. "I really do encourage you to go online and play it.

"To the extent that there are issues we are unaware of, we are committed to trying to work to make sure the experience is good, that's the most important thing. We are making the game for everyone. The game is robust, huge, we want to make sure if there are any issues they are addressed."

Lamia does admit that fringe cases have happened, prompting a lot of users to group together and demand for refunds.

"That's not to say there aren't edge cases," he acknowledged. "When we do hear of something, we're not like not doing anything.

"We worked on the game for two years, we want nothing more than for people to like it, especially guys who invested in rigs to make sure they had a powerful enough system. Obviously we care about the PC community.

"We think it's an awesome experience. I wish it wasn't just the 360 version you felt that way about because we feel like it's a great experience on all of the platforms."

The PC and PlayStation 3 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops have suffered from quite a few of issues, and, at least according to some of the forum threads on the official Call of Duty forums, things are still pretty broken on the PS3.

Still, Treyarch did pledge to solve as many issues as possible that were reported by Black Ops players.
