Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is aiming to be the best-selling video game launch of the year, and the team at publisher Activision believes that one of the reasons for its success will be the new three-year-long development cycle.

Eric Hirshberg, who leads the publishing arm of the company, tells investors that the development team at Treyarch has had the time it needed to make sure that all the core mechanics of the shooter deliver something new and interesting for fans of the series.

The CEO is quoted by The Street as saying that "Black Ops 3 is Treyarch’s first three-year development cycle, and they have been making the most of it with unparalleled depth of content across three modes of play."

The executive also believes that, once players manage to get hands-on experiences with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, they will be satisfied with the new ideas and the balance between single and multiplayer.

The first public demos of the title will take place at the E3 2015 event.

Apparently, the Black Ops series inside Call of Duty has been the most successful in terms of overall sales over the years and a lot of players are still playing the second installment at the moment.

Activision says that revenue derived from the franchise has increased by double digits year over year, mostly because of solid Season Pass and map pack sales, and because of the interest Advanced Warfare has sparked.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is coming on November 6

The new shooter will take place in 2065, a point when robotics and genetic enhancements have made most soldiers have seemingly superhuman powers.

Treyarch is promising that it will introduce more open areas for gamers to engage their enemies in, and that the player avatar will be entirely customizable, male or female.

The single-player campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will open to cooperative gameplay for up to four players.

There are also significant changes planned for the zombie mode and the multiplayer side of the title.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is set to arrive on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft.
