Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will introduce a novel concept to the series, an exoskeletal armor that players will be able to improve as they progress through the campaign.

The upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set to be one of the most interesting entries in the long-standing first-person shooter franchise, due mainly to the fact that you will be able to employ various pieces of futuristic technology in order to enhance your prowess on the battlefield.

The game's creative director, Bret Robbins, offered a little more information regarding the most exciting feature, the exoskeleton that will allow gamers to pull off various insane maneuvers while playing.

"One thing that is new with the campaign is that we're introducing an upgrading system. Through the exoskeleton you can increase its power; you can earn upgrade points by completing challenges and customize your exoskeleton. By end of the game you're much more powerful than you started," he told Gamingbolt.

He also mentions that players have to make certain choices when upgrading their armor, as they won't be able to get the suit's full range of abilities over the course of one single playthrough, but that progress will be saved and upgrades will carry over if players decide to play through the campaign again.

"It'll really help you to be a complete Veteran by having all these upgrades. It should encourage people to play the campaign again. I always do it as a player, I always like playing again especially with an open up upgrade system," Robbins said, comparing the feature to the New Game+ mode that many video games have.

Developer Sledgehammer Games unveiled the game earlier this year, taking many people by surprise by having famed Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey play the role of Jonathan Irons, the leader of a Private Military Corporation and the game's main villain.

The devs revealed that the story was written with Kevin Spacey in mind, who was eager to reach out to a new audience after seeing the success of Netflix's House of Cards show. The actor's top-notch performance will no doubt contribute to the script and the overall storyline, ensuring that it makes a lasting impression on gamers.

The game was developed over the course of three years, and developer Sledgehammer Games is committed to delivering a great experience to gamers all around the world, one that is congruent with the videos shown so far.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is coming out on November 4 worldwide, for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms.
