The development team at Sledgehammer Games announces that it plans to deliver a new AE4 energy assault rifle on December 11 for all those who have a Season Pass already purchased for the all new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare first-person shooter.

The official announcement is made on a community-focused blog and states, “The AE4 combines a versatile firing mechanism with all-around movement speed and handling. In addition to the base weapon, the AE4 Widowmaker custom variant will also be included.”

A more exotic Widowmaker version of the same AE4 weapon is set to be launched on the same day, but it will only be offered to those who own Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on the Xbox One home console from Microsoft.

Those who get the Season Pass after December 11 will also be able to use the two new weapons as soon as they access their game and enter the associated code.

The first full downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, called Havoc, will be launched at some point in early 2015 and will first be offered on the Xbox One home console.

No clear date has been offered so far by Activision and gamers do not yet know all the content that will be part of the DLC.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has already broken a few records

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has been launched on November 4, but despite its short time on the market, the video game has already managed to break records and become the biggest entertainment launch of the year, overtaking much better known movies and albums.

This performance was delivered despite the fact that some analysts were saying that pre-orders for the title were lower than expected and the game could sell a smaller number of copies than last year’s Ghosts.

Activision has not yet offered information on the amount of copies that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has delivered to fans so far.

The development team at Sledgehammer Games has already released updates for the game, designed to eliminate some issues that the player community has been reporting and to better balance the multiplayer.

The Season Pass for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare includes four DLCs, named Havoc, Ascendance, Supremacy, and Reckoning.

Presumably, they will be offered about one month and a half apart in order to make sure that fans stay connected to the shooter all through the first six months of 2015.
