A new gameplay video from the upcoming first-person shooter from Sledgehammer Games, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, has emerged from Gamescom 2014.

The video was shown during Microsoft's presentation, allowing us a glimpse at the futuristic action that we'll be enjoying come November, which seems at the same time very familiar and also pretty exciting.

The video shows a bit of gameplay footage from the game's single-player campaign, as Sentinel forces pursue a van on the Golden Gate Bridge. As the mission is titled "Collapse," it's not difficult to see where this is heading, showing that once again, the iconic San Francisco landmark is one of the structures most hated by aliens, terrorists, and other such nasty characters.

The vid features most of the abilities and gadgets shown during this year's edition of the E3 gaming trade show in June, including snapping off car doors and using them as shields, double-jumping thanks to a nice jetpack-like booster, and the cycle grenades that float around gracefully, like fireflies of doom, before locking on to a target or handily providing you with the location of all nearby enemies.

The footage shows how the boost can be used to jump higher or to get out of harm's way faster, and how the various weaponry in the game functions.

The game takes place in the year 2054, when a terrorist organization pulls off the first global act of terrorism in recorded history, by destroying the nuclear reactors of countries around the globe, devastating military and government infrastructure all around the globe.

The result is that private military corporations become the dominant forces for many of the crippled nations, and the only line of defense against the deadly terrorist organization known as KVA. This of course, leads to the leader of the most powerful of the corporations beginning a war meant to change the balance of power in the world, with the protagonist caught in the middle.

Developer Sledgehammer Games has dedicated a lot of resources to creating an enthralling and exciting single-player campaign for the title, with a gripping story that benefits from performances from talented actors such as Troy Baker and Kevin Spacey.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is currently scheduled to come out for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms, on November 4, 2014.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the first game in the series to have benefited from a three-year development cycle, instead of the usual two years that previous Call of Duty titles take, and the last-gen edition of the shooter is being developed by High Moon Studios.
