The development team at Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision are delivering a new major video update for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which is designed to give fans of the series access to more details about the narrative of the coming first-person shooter.

The two companies state, "With nations brought to their knees by a global terrorist attack, the world turns to Atlas, the largest private military company on the planet. Power, though, changes everything."

The footage is filled with philosophical musing about the nature of power and its effect on humans and shows the developer's intention to create a more thoughtful single-player campaign that focuses on more than simple action.

Sledgehammer Games is aiming to introduce a number of innovative new elements in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which is the first full project that the studio is working on.

The company says that the familiar structure of the experience will be unchanged, but that both the single player and the multiplayer will be tweaked in ways that will surprise long-term fans.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, last-gen consoles and other platforms on November 4 of this year.
