The team will aim to make them all more vertical

Many players are still exploring the content that was added to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare with the Havoc downloadable content pack, but the development team at Sledgehammer Games is already thinking about the kind of new content it might introduce to the game and it seems that classic franchise maps might make appearances in future DLC.

Michael Condrey, who has led development on the title and is one of the co-founders, says that many gamers have been very happy with the way the exo-skeleton has changed how the battles evolve and want to see more verticality added to the best known battle spaces that were part of previous releases.

He tells VG247 that "We’re taking a look at some opportunities to really highlight the vertical gameplay mechanics in some reimagined franchise favorites moving forward, like we did with Atlas Gorge."

He did not name the maps that might be remade for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in the coming months and has not said whether they will be delivered for free to the community or will be part of the coming paid DLC packs.

Condrey says that so far fans have been very happy with the Avalanche dynamic event which was introduced in Drift and with the new weapons that were introduced in Havoc.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare needs to experiment with new content

Traditionally, the Call of Duty series has used a model for its DLC drops, adding four new multiplayer maps, more weapons and one cooperative episode with each new launch.

Advanced Warfare has already managed to introduce a lot of innovation to the core mechanics of the series by making the exo-skeleton an integral part of the gameplay and by making energy weapons relevant.

Sledgehammer Games might see an increase in player engagement if it decides to launch classic maps with new elements for free for the entire community, as a thank you to all those who have played the game and made it a success in terms of sales.

The Havoc DLC pack is at the moment live on home consoles and will be introduced on the PC on March 3.

Presumably, the company will announce a new content drop during the current month and might deliver it for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 as soon as early April.
