Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is less than one week away from its launch date and the development team at Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision are now delivering a live action trailer for the video game, which is designed to bring the near future reality it theorizes to life and show gamers how intense the action can be.

The two companies are saying, “Directed by Peter Berg and starring Taylor Kitsch and Emily Ratajkowski, fight your way through a series of enemy forces and discover new movements, capabilities and weaponry along the way in this heart-racing journey through 2059 Lagos.”

The footage is certainly impressive and well shot, but it does not offer a good representation of what the gameplay of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will actually offer when the game is out.

The development team at Sledgehammer Games has been talking about the advanced movement options that the exo-skeleton opens up, but gamers will still be working through corridor-like areas in order to take out enemies in the single-player campaign.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and last-gen consoles on November 4, and gamers who pre-order the Day Zero Edition of the shooter can start playing one day earlier and will enjoy double experience gain for their character for a 24-hour period.

A Season Pass for the title covers four DLC packs which will be launched in 2014 and 2015.

The Activision franchise might be entering a long-term decline

The live action trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was probably planned as a big part of the advertising campaign for the game for a long time, but it is even more important at the moment because pre-orders are currently below what Activision was expecting.

Analysts are claiming that the shooter might sell 40 percent less than last year’s Ghosts by the end of the year and that its total will also be smaller than that of Black Ops 2.

The lack of innovative gameplay for the Call of Duty series might be partly to blame and the strong performance of Destiny might also play a role.

Sledgehammer Games has promised that Advanced Warfare will introduce a new mechanics linked to the exo-skeleton and futuristic weapons which will attract new gamers and will offer an interesting set of challenges for long-term fans.
