Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the biggest entertainment launch of 2014, and the title from developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision is continuing to perform well, managing to stay at the top of the United Kingdom video game sales chart for the first week on February.

The title is clearly benefitting from the launch of the Havoc downloadable content pack, which introduced four new multiplayer maps and the Exo Zombies mode, and more sales will be generated later in the month, when the same DLC is also delivered on the PlayStation 4, the PS3 and the PC.

There are three other content packages that will be offered for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare before a new title in the series is revealed.

Grand Theft Auto V, the open world experience from Rockstar, continues its own good run and sits in second place for the week that ended on February 7, according to data from UKIE. The title will also get a solid push when the PC version finally launches and introduces better graphics that fans will certainly enjoy.

FIFA 15 is the occupier of the final position on the podium, registering no change when compared to the previously tracked period, and benefits from the popularity of the Premier League in the country that invented the sport of football.

The best of the rest

The biggest move for the week is linked to Assassin’s Creed: Unity, the open world title from Ubisoft set during the French revolution, which has managed to reach fourth place coming from eight, which is quite a performance given the problems that it had on launch.

Ubisoft has not yet announced whether it plans to deliver more content for it.

Minecraft is dominating both fifth and sixth places in the United Kingdom chart, with the Xbox version of the indie hit from Mojang ahead of the PlayStation one.

Destiny has also gained three positions in seven days in order to reach seventh, probably because of the many rumors about the new House of Wolves expansion and the content that it will add.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is in eighth place, followed by Far Cry 4, the open world shooter from Ubisoft.

The United Kingdom chart is closed down by another title from the French publisher, The Crew, which focuses on social racing.
